Bank@Post 2021 Summit

Project Description

Background

Bank@Post is an agency service provided by Australia Post on behalf of over 80 financial institutions via its Post Office network. Banking partners include NAB, CommBank, Westpac, Suncorp and Bank of Melbourne. This service provides convenience and access to banking services in far and remote locations where there may not be a physical branch.

Each year Australia Post hosts a Summit, inviting representatives from all banking partners to learn about the Bank@Post future roadmap, and the opportunities to continue to provide essential banking services to all Australians.

In 2019 the event was delivered in person at Australia Post HQ. In 2020 the event was delivered virtually.

The Brief

With a creative delegate experience in mind – create a virtual event that showcases the value Australia Post’s collaboration with banking partners has on Australian communities. Demonstrate the value that Bank@Post offers, beyond the “transaction”. Ensure the Bank@Post Summit appeals to a wider co-host within the Banking partner organisations including finance, partner and marketing teams.

Manage all event logistics, content curation and technology platform.

The Solution

Creating an overall theme for the summit, “Step inside your community,” to illustrate the vast reach and coverage of the Bank@Post service, We Are Phoenix used a green screen set up at the Australia Post Head Quarters, blending virtual and live elements to create the look and feel of a regional Australia Post branch.

An MC and key speakers including their CEO & MD were broadcasted live via HD cameras from the pop-up studio location – for consistency across the look and feel, anyone dialing in also used similar virtual backgrounds as the green screen.

To open the summit, We Are Phoenix used a word cloud as an icebreaker and to glean data of why the audience was attending the event. We Are Phoenix used layouts and lower thirds to keep the screen content fluid and engaging, moving from multiple-person layouts to full screen and vice versa. Throughout the sessions, We Are Phoenix used a digital illustrator with music overlayed to summarise the session content in real-time and an easily digestible manner allowing for seamless transitions.

With a focus on the entire event experience – We Are Phoenix utilised the Cvent virtual event platform to deliver the event registration website and virtual attendee hub. Refreshing the 2020 design assets, We Are Phoenix built out the webpage, attendee hub and all event-related email communication maintaining brand consistency across all assets.

By using the Cvent attendee hub, the interface allows for customisation of assets and makes the audience feel that they are watching a television broadcast and not just another webinar.

During the event planning phase, We Are Phoenix used a variety of tools to clearly convey the event experience to key Australia Post stakeholders through storyboarding and drilling down into visual mockups of each of the scenes which helped to gain senior stakeholder buy-in and the development of compelling content.

We Are Phoenix managed the pre-recording of many of the sessions and provided a setup kit (camera, microphone, internet and lighting) to significantly improve the outcome of the pre-record for speakers who were geographically dispersed and still in lockdown.

The Results

Overall the event was a great success with the client commenting that it was the best summit so far, some snapshot data is below:

  • Registration = 436 registered including all target banks
  • Attendance = 274 logged in
  • Average viewing time = 72 minutes
